Ancestor's Name: Srul, Isak and Elizaveta, Kieserman City: Kishinev
Country: Moldova Posting date: 10/27/2010 Description: The Kaisermans, also spelled Keiserman, Keyserman or Kieserman in the Roman alphabet lived in Kishinev throughout the 19th century and apparently Srul, Isak and Elizaveta Kieserman were repatriated by the Soviets to Tashkent in 1941. I suspect that from there they moved to Israel. My great grandfather Michel and his brother Itsik came to the US before 1900. Their father was Nisan, who died in Kishinev and Nisan's father was Shmul, an innkeeper. I received an email from a Rabbi in Kishinev that the only Kaiserman he remembered was a Sochet and moved to Israel in the early 1990's. Any Kaisermans whose family came from Kishinev are probably related to us. |
